The vibrant market towns of Barnard Castle with the Famous Bowes Museum, Reeth, Hawes, Leyburn are all worth a visit. Richmond is a main hub on Wainwright's coast to coast walk and for walking and cycling routes around the Yorkshire Dales. The north's main shopping destinations of Leeds - home of Harvey Nicholls, and York - with the famous Minster and racecourse are only an hour away by car.
